How long does a polish last ?

I'll give them a good first polish and then try to keep on top of them every so often by hand. (sounds like my love life..hehehe)

Polish them, it"s worth it. It's a lot of work in the beginning and very little after that....if polished correctly. Polishing aluminum is not just sanding to 2000 grit and then hitting it with autosol. After sanding you have to hit it with numerous stages of rouge block. One of my bikes the frame, swingarm, subframe and forks I polished three years ago and there still mirror. Once a summer I use neverdull by hand for 10min....that's it.

For me it's a life time.  Two of my great grandparents were born there (I am part Polish). 
Hahahahaha....You beat me to it, This polish guy lasted 52 years so far and still shinning!
