Picked up a CB750 a while back. it had been in an accident so the front end was bent and it sat under a tarp for a couple of years so the motor was seized. But it has the black f2 motor in it and was only $100 so @!$% yeah!!

Ok. So FINALLY!!! Deleted all of this and reinstalled. Back in action! So the bike got stripped down to nothing and I started in on cutting off tabs and whatnot to make it cooler looking. I decided to ditch sidecovers and stock oil tank and make the back end more gp.
So I chopped the back half of the frame off and made a different one my friend is a welder and he's showed me how to use the tig welder and is letting me have at it! Sweet dude.

So... Things are out of order sort of but oh well. I picked up a second rotor and caliper and drilled #$%* loads of holes in them. Just on the drill press. Good quality bit and a regular countersink were all that were needed. I also picked up an 18" borrani rim set for a Harley sportster and laced them to stock hubs. Ss spoke set! Woot! So nice. The yoke got new allballs bearings and I had my budda weld the bar-mount-holes in the top yoke shut. Then I shaved it nice and polished it. The bottom yoke was replaced because it was damaged in a crash. They are k model yokes and it's a k model frame. Just the motor is f2. Rebuilt the forks to stock. But I hear an emulator set is in my stocking this year:)!!!!!
Oh yeah. Also welded tabs to the frame to mount rearsets. They are cbr I think. F4?

Oh yeah. Stripped and shined up a stock f model tank. And am mocking up a bump seat with aluminum tape. FYI: don't stick that shiit to anything you don't want it permanently stuck to.

And another oh yeah:
I diddnt know where I wanted the rear shocks to mount when I chopped the frame so I am mocking them up here with sn axle and some wire. And the stock swingarm bearings were either already changed out or I just got a magic set installed at Honda. Either way they felt great. Stoked!

I wanted to put a steering damper on because of the jacked rear and lowered front. I think the shocks are gold-wing. I got this one for a song off an older race dude in north van along with some rear sets and brake masters and other bits. Just needed a tab on the frame and a handfull of rubber washers.... Seems to work.
Uh.... If anyones out there btw and thinks I'm an idiot with any of this shtuff. Please let me know. Thx.

I welded the tab on my frame for a damper as well. i had the clampon bracket to go by, so i knew the damper would clear the engine. It's splayed out a little.

Yours looks like its pulled in a little and may hit the engine. Maybe?

What i found with all my bracketry welding onto the frame its hard to look ahead and see what may be in the way, when the frame is stripped of its other pieces..

Woah. Yeah. Good eye! At least zip disks are cheap lol. That's funny, I have an oil cooler I'd like to put on, but have been waiting on the engine to go in for that exact reason. The engine is pretty much the most important part of these things I've heard...

Whaaat! That's one badass sickle. Nice work man. The five fifty is just such a well thought out bike, I Love them. And you did a really nice job of it man. Is that a custom muffler? And what did you use for a throttle?

Thanks man. The muffler is a Harris racing can. Awfully loud. Might baffle it a little this winter, but then again probably not.

Throttle is a cheapie Emgo generic push/pull. Throwing an R6 throttle tube on soon; the double fistful to go WOT is getting old.

So next step:
Glassed over the aluminum rape to make a bump seat, then primer.
Started making shock mounts. Using the stock bolts cut out of the stock mounts and fit them into a couple plates made of 1/8" flat steel. Pretty stoked on the stance.

Looks good... i have to admit that until I saw the seat cowl mounted I wasn't much for the rear end of the frame. But looks good once the cowl is mounted.

Ok...So after the shock mounts I figured I was a welder now and tried to tackle a pair of clip ons. They're stainless. The ones I got with the bike were rusted and bent so yeah, Needed new ones. These shouldn't rust. They turned out pretty good. Pickling your welds is awesome! It's an acid paste you put on to take the blueing out of the steel when you're done. Fun!!

PARTS!! got a fork brace in the mail! So I wrapped the front tire in a half inch of foam, then packing tape, then foil tape, and then fiberglass. And then bondoglass. Drilled a couple holes in the brace and mounted the fender!

The bike has no centrestand so I needed a shopstand. Bent this one up and it's doing the job. I also started thinking about paint. ..... At one point I wanted a silver frame so I bought aluminum tremclad. Before it was dry I decided against it and wiped it off. And painted it black. But the silver leaked through in parts and looked rad. So I thought... Let's try more! So the shop stand got my first blend of gloss black and aluminum tremclad. Kind of a #$%* photo. But oh well. You get the idea.

Then... Mixed up another batch of grey black and liked it enough to spray the bike. An old hot rod dude told me he paints using only tremclad and reducer and hardener. Seems to work really well. I put a clear overtop. Cheapest paintjob ever. The tank is bare steel brushed with 220 grit paper. Then clear over everything. The black is stick-on pinstriping.

Oil tank needed. First in cardboard then in stainless. Maybe I should have done aluminum. But I don't know. This seems to look alright. It's definitely not without flaws. Had a real hard time getting used to welding outside corners.
