New brake lines. Kinda on the fence about them. #$%*ing expensive too. Oh well, they work.  I thought they would look much simpler.....

 I run brakeline thru sterring stem use -3 line. then use a Tee comming out going to 2 45 degree fittings.. pricey but looks good. if you are into DIY, skip the expensive fittings, make an alum block for the junction under the tree, use pipethread and NPT to AN 3 adaptors.
 Your oil bucket .. would look kiler if you did this;
 Trace the ends onto 2 pces of wod 1/2 inch thick, radius edges so you have a left and right ends...now hammerform two new ends with a radius edge, and weld to the tank, it will look 3 times as nice.. worth the effort.

I think you know way more about brakes than I do. I don't know how to make any of that stuff, but I sounds cool. You have a pic? I like the idea of the oil tank being rounded off on the edges. Can you pull that hammer forming off in stainless or must it be aluminum? Maybe I should just make an aluminum tank anyways. I think fittings would be easier to do that way. If I did sn aluminum tank.. What gauge should it be? 1/8"? Or thicker?

Christmas break. A time for family and or putting your motor back together. Now I just need a bro to help me get it in the frame. Ugh. Put in 836 JE pistons from dynoman. So pretty! Should have taken more pics.

Kickstand was having a disagreement with my rearsets.... Cut it off and moved it forward a few inches. Then hobo powdercoated it. (brush-on tremclad) does anyone know if there is an ideal place theoretically for rearsets? Is it pure comfort or just " if you make it beautiful it will be fast"?

 Looks like you have access to machined parts, if not I can help. The Brake junction would be easy to make with a mill, but could be done with just a drill press if you are handy.  Just think a piece of 1/2 or 5/8 aluminum plate two holes drilled 90 deg apart at the bottom drill the small holes in till they intersect. Tap the start of the hole to 1/4NPT.. then drill a 3rd hole from above to meet the first two, at the point where they meet,all the holes are tapped to 1/4 npt... the trim the block.. save buying expensive fittings.
 Is the oil tank stainless? Aluminum would look cooler, if you can get the wedling done, I can supply bungs and filler cap if you cant get them. a good way to mount tank is to weld in 1/4NC blind bungs, then use those rubber mounts with the 1/4 inch studs on each side that H-D used for years.

Tank looks great - what clear did you use and did you really only use 220 grit for that effect? Looks much smoother and polished.

I'm pretty sure it was 220. But it may actually be coarser. Like 180. I am s bit worried about not having a primer under the clear so the tank was left rough to help the clear stick. It is kind of brushed with the paper all in the same direction. I think that helps with shine. The clear is an old ppg product called stratoclear. I don't think you can get it anymore. It's like 7 yrs old. It wasn't real fancy at the time though. 75$ a quart maybe? From Lordco.

I don't have any access to machining equipment. Just a drill press. But I see what you are saying. The 45* joint would look slicker. I need a tap too I guess. I only have a couple.  Are standard brake lines 1/4 npt?

But you have me thinking on this tank. And I Doo need fittings. Do you have stainless stuff or would I need to go aluminum? As it stands I was going to make the fittings out of 3/4" pipe with a thick wall I could cut rings into to try and make a weld-on hose barb. Ss parts have been tough to find. Although I do have a possible cap. Though it's not vented... Do oil tanks need a vent? Or if i vent the oil tank to the crank case vent by the transmission will that be good enough? I have the tank hanging off the frame at the top right now sitting on rubber washers. Seems to be ok. I'll take a pic of that.

The clipons were roughed out with a zip disk then finished on my bench grinder. Just a 10 inch fine stone on it. Took a while because of all the heat! Had to keep a glass of water beside me and use welding gloves.
You have pics of your cap idea and threaded fittings? The cap I can get is just a 1 1/2" threaded pipe with a hex drive plug. Like a plumbing clean out but in stainless. I was gonna weld it almost flush with the top of my tank unde the seat. It ain't pretty so it will be hidden.

So what better wY to work off a serious new years hangover then by heaving 180lbs of jap engine into s frame?! Me and a bro laid the engine down and dropped the frame over it.
Ground down the flange on the front lower right engine mount. Boy did that help! Thanks forum! Just skid right on! Then we just put it on a milk crate and started bolting it up!

Welded a brace onto the swing arm in hopes that it would flex less in corners. Then gusseted under the swingarm pivot to help sturdy the frame.
