Hello,
I have a 1978 cb750k.
I have recently purchased a new throttle assembly and new throttle cables to replace the frayed old ones.
I have attached them at the bars and in their correct locations at the carb. The pull cable functions very well and the spring returns the bell to the closed position.
The pull cable on the other hand does not do anything productive. It is secured with the single nut, the ball/keg end is in its slot, but when the pull cable engages, the push cable ball-end pops out of its slot and the cable stays straight. It does not return to its "home" until the throttle is closed. If it is closed too quickly, the ball end stays out of its slot, rendering it useless.
How can this be fixed?
Is this a new cable stiffness problem?
Are there adjustments that can be made so the ball end of the cable stays in its slot while the pull cable engages?
Please help!
I appreciate your time.
Thanks,
Chris
