long shot Cycleworld magazine 1980
« on: December 27, 2011, 01:12:17 AM »
Hi,

Know it is a long shot but maybe someone can help me out:

Am looking for a Cycleworld magazine, 1980 septembre issue. Article about Suzuki GS1000 Superbike that won the Daytona Superbike race that year. If one could scan that article there would be one happy man here!

thanks in advance and happy holidays.

Rob

Hi Mick,

Sorry mate, it isn't. Have that, great, article already. It is supposed to be an article in the septembre issue of Cycleworld 1980. They closely look at the Daytona Superbike race winning Yoshimura GS1000 of Graeme Crosby.
This is the cover:

And a part of the article:

Thanks mate,

Rob

Not yet, Mick. But thinking about it. Croz has always been my favorite superbike rider and really liked the GS1000R's. But at the moment actually helping out another guy who has build one.

Cheers mate,

Rob

Have to check axle size, not selling, using it for a street 750with longer arm.. it was on a gsxr dragracer. the pins that hold the sprocket drivewore the holes and had a few cracks..so I redrill the bolt pattern by moving it about 20 degrees, then it be good.
It has a 6 inch slick if the gsxr eventually hurt it, might last a long time on a 1000cc sohc.

pretty light wheel, got it for 25 bux when the Beemer dealer went outa busines.. got some Beemer mags too..

I'll have to look thru my old photos, Croz use to race on our local track, I used to flag marshall so I could get up close and take photos of him going round corners.

That would be great, Croz is my all time favorit and even called my eldest after him, Graeme.

Cheers mate and happy holidays.

If its from an early GSXR it should have the same size axle as the Honda...
