I just tell them there is someone at the door leave the horn on hold. The real persistent ones keep on the line for up to 10 minutes.

Oh to have the wit to come up with something like that when those telmarketers call, invariably ay dinnertime!

The best lamearsed thing I end up saying is to ask them if they would like it if I called them during their meal treak.

He's got a whole cd of them. My favorite was where he told the girl that he was trying to give a sperm sample. He was asking about her clothes and telling her to talk slower. She started getting into it! Then she said she couldn't talk anymore on the work phone, and she'd call him back on another line. He claims she called back but he didn't answer it.
