Yeah, nice Suzi. What size motor Larry?

Reminds me of my first bike, a Suzi X6 Hustler.  Twin cylinder, 250cc.

It is a 150 Stev-o, funny you mention the X6 as the person I got the Suzie from also has an X6 for sale, asking 1500. enjoy your day...Larry

I would like another X6, but do I really need another bike? Ha!
I saw one for sale locally about two months ago, he was asking $1300, but had no title. I didn't call.

That's a sweet little Suzy Larry, I had a T250 (I think the Hustler was the model before the T250, the X6 was the last of the 2 stroke 250 line, from memory?) for a little while, it was a minty one owner bike like yours, physically too small for me, but it went like a cut snake! Cheers, Terry. ;D

It is too small for me too Terry but I could't pass it up, love the look and the fact I'll be able to  fumigate my neighbors with the exhaust.  Memory?  What was I saying?

That is a nice one on fEEbay Stev-o, my friends is every bit as nice but unrestored....Larry

Interesting that you mention that little suzuki. I had never heard of that model either until an s32 popped up on the local CL last week. It was blue and looked to be in really nice original shape. Even had a title. The only problem is it wasn't running but it looked like it only needed a carb clean and a tue-up. If I would have had the money I would have bought it. Seller was asking $700

I cannot find much sales/value info but that seems like a good price.  Odd bikes but sort of retro cool...Larry

Been going through the Suzie before riding it and found a couple semi-serious problems:  buzz saw rear sprocket, dented rear rim, mice infested air chamber.   Not too concerned about the rim as it should have minimal effect at the super high speed the bike is capable of(65?).  I found a rear sprocket for the tidy sum of $40 shipped, the front sprocket seems to be unobtainable but the one on it is in very good condition.  I found an air filter for 30 w/shipping( only found one source) but the canister is also unobtainable-may try to fabricate one or patch the one I have....Larry

Me too..........It is a pain as I thought this was a quick flip with minimal work and no expense(well you know what happens when one assumes something).  This is the third time my assumption of easy money as turned into fools gold:  the SL350 developed a broken kick start, I still have a 750 K4 in which the case started cracking near the front sprocket.  Guess three out of a couple dozen isn't all that bad...Larry

They nest in phone equipment boxes. Occasionally, they fry and that when I used to get called.   They must be attracted to a nice warm cubby hole

Could you patch that filter canister Larry? Lord knows how long you'll be waiting for another one to come along? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Terry, plan is to patch, probably with fiberglass.  I actually found anoher canister on Feebay but it did not look much better than mine. There is also an Amish aluminum fabricator up the street that could probably make a replica, same guy who welded my K0 carb bracke for $5.  The air filter came today(less than 3 weeks from China) and it is an original NOS  ;D.   ....Larry

Ya gotta love those Amish mate, is there nothing they can't fix? But yeah, I little fibreglass and some bondo and paint, and you should be good to go. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Re: Rotten rusted CB750 aka The Red Rider UPDATE
« Reply #223 on: April 20, 2013, 04:12:55 PM »
Since finishing Red Rider I rarely have ridden it(for me the enjoyment is the process of restoration), so I decided to take it for an extensive ride a couple weeks ago, and much to my dismay I realized I had a bike that was very difficult to shift between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th when hot. It was extremely disappointing as I had installed a low mileage(6000) 75F motor that I had acquired in a trade of services to replace the 75K original motor.  First thing to do was drain the oil and check for pieces and/or bits,  I had put less than 100 miles on the bike since the redo.  Well the oil(I had changed the oil but do not remember what I used) was black as can be, put in the appropriate amount of 40000extravirginoil(actually Castrol GTX) went for another extensive test ride and lo and behold the shifting problem was cured.  ;D ;D ;D   Should I start an oil thread?...Larry

Yes, start the oil thread, I'll get the popcorn!

Good to hear that helped the shifting but do you really think the oil was the only issue?
