I heard of the guy that does the sadlyno.com who goes by the pseudonym Tintin.

He's a hoot.  It's funny who he finds to target, mostly Right Wingers, of course. No censoring at that place, and if you wanna post you really don't have to post any of your information.

Boy, I am disillusioned! I remember when we had a member named tintin (or am I dreaming?) and I find out this isn't about him AND when I look for his info, I find that he isn't here.  :-\

But really, didn't we have a member named tintin who lived up there somewhere in Canada and built a Yamaha XS650 into a sharp cafe? Looking to older members, for some input here.  ;)

I grew up with the Tintin comics. Watched the movie a month or long ago, with my 8 and 5 y/o kids.

The movie is more for teenagers. Even when there is not explicit violence, it is very fast-paced and the little kid got scared by the sound of machine-guns.

I enjoyed the movie A LOT. It is amazing how computers can make movies. I know real-life actors had worked, but only to digitalize the human movement.

Many times movies have been filmed after a comic. The cast director chooses the actor or actress that resembles more the characters, but at the end, you feel he is not him. With Tintin, during the whole movie, you feel he is him, and the same with Captain Haddock and the rest. It is just like if the comic has become alive.

After having watched movies like "Tintin" and "Tangled", I foresee a dim future for actors. You can transmit emotions with computer-generated characters, using fresh-faces for every film, with no prima-donnas attitudes, no high salaries, no whimsical attitudes. I have been deeply touched with films like Up!, or Tangled, and enjoyed Tintin a lot, just like a young Indiana Jones.

I also foresee sequels of the movie. That is hard to understand if you are not into the comic.

Just saw it today.  Best computer generated animation I have ever seen.  It was just the typical lost treasure/chase story line though.  I spent much of the film checking out the background, well done. Like Raul just said, if it gets just a little better they won't need actors/actresses anymore.  Might be cool to see some new Bogart films. ;D

Well it was another stinking hot day again today, so no workshop time. After reading this thread yesterday I decided to give Tintin a go, being a fan back when I was a kid.

I opted for the 3D version, and once I'd adjusted my 3D specs over my normal glasses, I was pretty impressed. Great graphics and the story was very close to my memory of "The secret of the Unicorn".

All in all, not a bad way to kill a couple of hours, and I'll look forward to "Red Rackhams Treasure", or whatever they title it. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
