cb450 year differences
« on: December 14, 2011, 09:36:50 PM »
So I've found a cheap, running cb450 that I'd like to eventually turn into a brat/cafe.  My question is, the bike is an '83.  Did they change much over the years?  From what I usually see, folks turn the older 70's bikes into the cafe/brats.  I know anything is possible, but I'd like to follow a transformation as someone else has already done so I'd have folks to ask questions to.  Thanks!

I just wondering, is an 83 Honda considered vintage? Anyways, there are allot of cb450 projects going on at this site mainly 71-72 is what I have seen recently, check out the builds, see if it resembles your machine . Even if they are different, you should still be able to modify your machine .
A few Honda 500's, a few Honda 550's, a few Honda 650's, '72 cb 450, a couple 500/550/650 hybrids, and 2001 750.

Here is a link for Honda year info  http://www.motorera.com/honda/index.htm   A 1983 is entirely different from the early model of dohc 450, production of those stopped in 1975, that is after Honda bumped the cc to 500. The early models are a good foundation for the cafe craze...Larry
