Sandcast front fender ID photos needed.
« on: January 03, 2012, 09:53:11 AM »
1969 CB750K  Sandcast.

Does anyone have good photos of the underside of a double-cut front fender (front and rear) and a detail of the speedo cable guide.

The fender on mine does not have the punched hole for the plastic cable guide (a good sign) but the front and rear edges just look suspect to me.
They are "cut" and not rolled but just don't look like a perfect cut.  Granted mine is a bit rusty and has a slight ding and dent, but I want to make sure before I put time and money into re-chroming it.

Also, are there any differences in the fender supports that I am not aware of.

How were these "cut" at the factory ?  Anyone know ?   Thanks in advance.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

What you have to do is look at the underside.  They are cut before they are formed so the result is that the two edges don't line up and therefore doesn't look like a perfect cut.  I assume you're talking about the cable guide that's on the fender stay?   I'll try to locate some photos but it sounds like you have the real thing.
