CB 350 F exhaust completed..
« on: January 02, 2012, 03:48:10 PM »
I wanted to post here instead of in the "parts wanted" section. I was looking for some spacers for an exhaust system I bought on flea bay for my CB 350 F I'm working on..

I bought the exhaust pretty cheap but it did not include the spacers to reduce the pipe inside the end of the muffler. I had a local machine shop bore out some aluminum. (2 1/2 inches long.)

The fit nice and snug as I had to use some exhaust anti seize in order to slide them on.

All is good. Thanks for the replies in the other thread.

Spacers in muffler..

On bike..

And done..

Did you need to slot the spacers so they would squeeze in and clamp down tight ?
75' CB400F/'bunch o' parts' & 81' CB125S modded to a 'CB200S'
I love the small ones too !

Nope. When I cinched the lower muffler bolts that did the job.

There not going anywhere.  Pipes, mufflers and bracket. All good. All tight.  ;)

Nice looking bike!

Thanks for the link. The bike was pretty clean when I bought it but it needs a going over. Bwaller sold me some carburetors with kits and Jessie rebuilt them for me. I have to rebuild the front forks and a few other odd and ends.

Exhaust is temporary unless I decide to sell this one. If I keep it then I will order a set of aftermarket repo exhaust.

Here is a picture before teardown.

Nice exhaust work.
Looks like you had a nice canvas to start with.  8)

That is a really nice solution I'd imagine it could be used on other bikes/pipe models to fit some odd stuff together. ;)
