Anyone know what kind of header this is?
« on: January 04, 2012, 01:15:05 PM »
It fits onto a cb750 k head for sure. But I don't know where it originally came from.

I vote; CB750F. It'll fit the head, but may have problems further back, like around the footpegs, etc.

The F pipes laid in a flat pattern into the collector, most aftermarket were in a square four pattern as they enter the collector.

The bottom of the collector is smoother/flatter on the 75/76. It doesn't look like 4 individual tubes like that one does. Is that a 77/78 F pipe maybe? We need a F2/F3 guy now  :)

It's really dirty. But pretty straight. I think I'm gonna build one, but I had this laying around and thought... Maybe it could do for a time.... Its a 4-2-1 though which is neat. Not sure about 1-2 and  3-4 being paired as opposed to 1-4 and 2-3. Maybe it makes no diff. Maybe it's the greatest header ever produced. But I have doubts.

Definitely not F2 or F3, it's aftermarket. I've seen some like it before, but I don't know the brand. It's ugly, as Frank said, so it's probably English. The flat collector was done more for ground clearance than it was for performance. It'll probably work fine though, so fit a nice muffler to it and you're good to go. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I've been searching and think that it is stock f2 maybe... I'm gonna give it a shot for a while. Maybe wrap it for looks.

Looks just like the ones on both of my F3's, so I'm gonna have to say stock F2-F3.

They look exactly like the headers I just removed from my F3.

Cool! Thanks guys! If you just pulled it does that mean you didn't like it? Do you know what mufflers will fit onto it?

If it were 77/78 would it not be black ?? Wrapped header, thats got to be the most likely mod to fall out of favor next, methinks..

Nope, the ones on both of my '78 F3's were chrome, just the engines were black.
