Needing some help in Raleigh area.
« on: August 13, 2011, 12:51:51 PM »
Hey guys I need some  help with my 78 CB750 SS. The bike runs but runs rough. It is rideable but not really on the street. I just moved up here the bike should be following soon. I don't have a garage or the tools to really work on this thing yet. I can pay for the help or I can just bring the bike with some beers and a helping hand. Whatever works. The carbs have been gone through a couple times. I really think the problem might be the ignition but I don't have a timing light or a voltmeter to check that the coils are good.
Thanks for any help.
Ross

Did you ever get this figured out?  also there is a Ton Up group here in Raleigh that seems to be very active.  You might want to look for them on facebook.

Nah man.  These guy ride anything that goes fast.  There are a few people in the group currently rebuilding Jap bikes.  I can't comment about the website but the Raleigh group seems to be a bunch of good older riders.

I live in Fayetteville, but I make it up to Raleigh on a regular basis. I've actually been looking for other SOHC riders. I have a 750 K8. I have a a full garage, though I know if your bike is not running great you don't want to take the trip south with it. I can always bring up a few things like a timing light. I have extra points too. Ive had to mess with the ignition stuff a lot. I kept on going through condensers, mostly because they were cheap. Drop me a line. I'd like to meet you. There's not a lot of us in these parts. I was hoping to find a club or soemthing.
