Some progress today, front wheel on then off then on again due to me putting front guard on backwards. Was going to tackle putting the pipes back on but decided to leave that for tomorrow. Battery is charged so might even fire it up tomorrow, it was running sweet as when I tore it to bits so hopefully I haven't affected this too badly. :)

Alright last time you tuned in our intrepid bike rebuilders had stripped the GSXR down to it's frame, now painted silver and the engine side covers also gleaming shiny black it was time to add the alloy swing arm and wrestle the little 4 cylinder motor back into it's frame.

Oh no you guys are so behind the time, engine is in, swing arm in then out then in again, wheels on exhausts fitted radiator on oil added. Waiting on a handful of bolts that the PO "borrowed" for his other GSX and we had to buy in.
Battery goes in next and headlights before the shiny high gloss painted fairings get fitted. ;D

Got a buyer and the next bike is waiting in another shed, I kinda like this little GSXR but my son is quite excited by the other bike which is in far superior condition.

Alright tank on, radiator fitted, fixed the stop light not working (adjustments are always out once you strip back to the frame).
Battery flat? might jump start of the Ford. ;D

Nice Paint job on that frame Hush..it seems to have more shine than the Original flat silver and I like it.

Well most are either restored to pristine condition and command prices like $18000 or are yet to be found, I have yet to see a ratty CB750 sohc4 on the road. NZ probably got a few thousand over the years and they are either in the hands of restorers or hidden somewhere.
I don't want a 750 someone else has "finished" I want one I can do. :)

Thought I had it sussed, rebuilt carbs, refitted airbox, bike ran perfect for 2 minutes! Drank gas like a sailor on the piss!
At the end of the day and after removing and refitting the carbs 3 times I was packing up for the night and benched the carbs, gas started flowing all over me!
I couldn't understand it until I realised that the gas was coming from an overflow tube, nothing unusual than that but then I noticed that the exact same tubes had a rubber hose between them!!! WTF!!!  :(
I'm back to work tomorrow so they will have to wait until I get time to have another look.
In the photo, the grey tube is correct, above it you can see the outlets that should be connected to each other, not entirely sure what this would do to carburation but I'm pretty confident the Japs didn't intend them to be thus! ;)

Vacuum lines, I believe, they are pulling in more air from the outside, whereas they should not be.  Fitting a new hose should help your running issues... but you knew that.   ;)

OK new float valves cured the carbs leaking problem (after adjusting tangs) now it won't start at all.
I'm thinking the plugs fouled when it was getting too much gas before so will have to dig them out and give them a clean-up, I got one out and it looked like it had been up the chimney! :D
