Wanda, my K2 CB750
« on: September 25, 2012, 09:29:56 PM »
Quick intro, my dad bought her new in Japan when the aircraft carrier he was on, the Coral Sea, stopped in Japan. This bike was raced AFM in the late 70's, and was parked sometime in the mid-late 80's. About 2 years ago I was rummaging through our storage, I pulled the cover off my dads minty 79 CBX, and got the bug for a big vintage bike. I had the 65 S90, but it wasn't highway legal. Dug a little deeper and I spotted Wanda all the way in the back. My mom was pregnant with me when this was their only transportation so it was kinda sad seeing her sitting forgotten. Anyhow, jumped on the horn and started pestering my pops about when he was going to do something with her. He said soon. But, he wanted to do a full resto. That would be a nightmare though. Anyways, a month or 2 later he showed up at my house and dropped her off.

I bought a K1 for him, and later he found a dead ringer K2 so I bought the K1 back. Anyways, I killed off all the big stuff needing done to make the K1 a reliable daily, and now I get to start on Wanda. Over the year+ I've done little odds and ends digging and putting parts back on so the woman doesn't yell at me about the ugly parts bike, but now I get to focus some real attention on her. This is as far as I got doing 1/2 arsed bolt togethers, and here is where I start. ;)
