New Guy from NJ
« on: January 09, 2012, 05:07:25 PM »
Hey guys and gals...I just joined up yesterday and I'm looking forward to learning and contributing a lot to this site.  I picked up a 77 CB750 as a trade from a customer early last year and I finally have the time to start working on it.  Not sure what the vibe is on this site as far as stock vs. modified but I will be building it as a bobber.  I already have a Tigman hardtail on order and I pulled the whole bike apart yesterday.  I'll be running some drag bars, custom oil tank, maybe a peanut gas tank if it doesn't look too narrow above the engine, solo seat, etc.

Welcome to the madness!!!! Lets see some pics. Are you going old school or is the whole bobber going to be flat black?

any good build is usually welcome just don't do anything to destroy the old bike itself like nitrous it just won't handle it but in all honesty there are a lot of purists here too

The motor will remain stock except for the pipes....I have my cars for going fast.

This bike will be a bit unique and I feel like the latest Biker Build Off stole my thunder but I plan to black out everything except for the tank, rear fender, oil tank, and headlight.  They will all be copper plated and pinstriped with black and white. I also hope to clean up the bars as much as possible so I'll be looking into 7/8 internal throttles and clutches so any tips on those would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum,  there is a ton of info on here for everything you will want to do.  I'm in NJ too and it seems there are a few of us on here. Good luck with your build.  Let's see some pics!

Once I get moving with the project I'll start a build thread.  Still waiting on my hardtail to show up and slowly deciding on and ordering some of the other parts like tires, rear fender, headlight mounts, etc.
