Yet another CB crosses my path...
« on: January 09, 2012, 05:24:50 PM »
I received a call today from a fellow worker today with a lead on a 1975 CB 550. Other than the air cleaner box and lack of stock pegs, shifter etc, it is all there. High mileage of 55500 miles.

Fenders are clean, wheels good, tank faded but no dents anywhere. One side cover, cracked up. Under the dirt the gauges are real clean.

Looks like a lot of work. Could possibly buy for $300 to $400 with a clean title. Really don't want to tackle this but yet hate to have it slip by.  ::)

Parts bike perhaps?

That is nowhere near being a parts bike, especially since it has a title.  If you don't want to bring it back to life, let somebody else have it who will.

Jump on that thing for $300!   Even if you can't get to it for a year. You still have the 350?

That thing is near pristine condition. If you can get it for $300 WITH title, that's on the verge of stealing. If you're going to use it for parts, God will kill numerous kittens.

I would get it just to keep some greasy Hipster from buying it to turn into a Cafe  ::)

Original? Yeah, 'cept for the seat, crash bars, foot rests, shifter, brake lever and exhaust! But nothing that can't be easily changed out.

If one of you gets the bike and doesn't want the footboards, I call first dibs!   :P

No, but really, PM me if you get it and you don't want the boards, brake adapter, and shift adapter.  Looks like a pretty nice set!

+1 on that, with just a few parts changed it would look to be an 8.5 out of 10 all cleaned up !

LOL no thanks.  The wife can only handle the one project at the moment.  Maybe once I get closer to finishing it I could look towards another.  That being said, I need the floorboards to get closer to finishing my project!  ;D  J/k, Simply thought they looked cool and would be nicer than the stock setup.

Those floor boards are rockin! Gte it running, give the bike a good wash, shine up the chrome, get your self a set of 4 x 2 pipes with pea shooters you got a nice looking road machine.

Those are actually some of the better looking 4-2 conversion mufflers I have seen. They look like BMW mufflers.
