How to unscrew leak-stopper chamber on CB750K2 oil pump?
« on: February 22, 2012, 03:15:46 PM »
How are y'all getting the bolts off the leak stopper chamber on CB750K oil pumps?

I've got my oil pump off to replace the rock-hard, pancake-flat O-rings around the three plugs. I figured I may as well replace the oil-stopper O-ring too, but can't get the two screws loose to open it up.

Do I need a JIS screwdriver? A jig to steady the pump so I can whack at it with my impact wrench?

For that matter, should I just leave well enough alone and not take the leak stopper chamber apart at all?

It's on a 1972 CB750K2 that hasn't run for about 25 years; 19,000 miles.
