Thanks for the feedback all, the o-ring does go on the float bowl drain, I had no idea about the keyster carb kits having so many problems, bought them off of EBay,  they were cheap, so I guess I bought an expensive gasket kit.

Sorry to be dense but does that mean needles are sold individually? Looking at Bikebandit.com they list a needle, jet set at $25.71 - is that per needle or for all 4?

My local Honda dealer sells them for $22 a set.  Not cheap, but my last set went 80,000 miles as I recall.

Mine, too! I turned the needle jets 180 degrees at 88k miles, got better mix until the other side of them wore out at 126k. That's when RXmanGriff came to my rescue with a set of new ones he found for me.  :)
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Cross posting from a thread I started, then found this thread after. On 1978 cb750k pods+4-1+130 mains:
"I noticed that the replacement needle had more 'spring' than the older stock needle, the 'top post' on the new float needle was slightly longer than the one I was replacing, and the float in that carb now sits slightly higher than the other floats (upside down, not hanging as if on the bike). For reference, this is the Keyster replacement float needle:http://www.siriusconinc.com/pro-detail.php?pid=&product_id=2193

How will this effect running? Should I order 3 more new needles so they all sit the same?

EDIT: If this is an issue with Keyster float needles, is there a place I can order OEM float needles? I'm pretty pissed right now as I'm out $7.50+shipping on something that sounds like it won't work I found these on Parts N More =carb&filters[fitting]=custom&filters[year]=1978]http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/honda/cb750k/?filters[category]=carb&filters[fitting]=custom&filters[year]=1978
