keyster carb rebuild kit

Just got my Carb rebuild kits from keyster  for my 76 750, and included in the kit is 1 rubber o-ring, can someone tell me what and where this goes,  I have no idea and I have never come across any rubber in rebuilding these carbs in the past.

Those kits fit many carbs and sometimes include parts you don't need. The only. O ring I can remember on a cb 750 carb would be on the fuel inlet T

For the 400F, I thought that O ring was for the little pipe/tube that connects the individual carbs together. Not sure if the 750 carbs are built the same way though.

If these are early carbs with the screw tops then there are 4 o rings on the tee's that connect carbs 1 and 2 , and 3 and 4 , to the fuel supply . There are also rings on the drain screws on each float bowl .

Just got my Carb rebuild kits from keyster  for my 76 750,

I hate to be a wet blanket, but you probably aren't going to be happy with the way your bike runs with the Keyster kits installed.

ive had great success with their rebuild kits on my kawasaki's but then again, its just gaskets and a main jet(stock sized)/one idle screw. so not much to go wrong. might be different on honda kits?

There are no o rings on the jets , float bowl , or mixture needle on earlier carbs . These are the carbs I think Paddy Paul's talking about .

How early is early? On the K0 there are no "O" rings on the bowl drain screws, they are washers.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

The gaskets seem to be OK, but the metal parts are not likely to be in spec.  I bought the kits for needle jet sets off of Ebay because those parts were worn in my carbs.  The price was the same for the Keyster kits as it was for just the stock Honda needle jet set.  Turned out to be not bargain. The taper on the jet needles was way off, and the kits didn't include the jet.  So I had to buy the Honda parts anyway.  If you need gaskets, the kits might not be a bad buy just for them, but I've never priced the OEM gaskets.

How early is early? On the K0 there are no "O" rings on the bowl drain screws, they are washers.

Roger that, and starting with the 657B carbs, some had O-rings on the bowl drain screws instead of the metal washer.

Not only are the Keyster needles the wrong taper, but their float valves have springs too strong. This causes very low float bowl levels, poor idling, and great hesitation when pulling open the throttle. The only part of the Keyster kits that I have been able to easily use is the float bowl gasket, and you can get these at PartsNmore or VintageCB750 (or others) alone.

Not sure if they were Keyster but changed out some aftermarket #40 slow jets back to stock pieces. They were way out of spec,holes were too large and know they had not been drilled. Compare the parts carefully if you use them.

I would like to know as well.  Especially for the needles and seats.

I recently used some "Made in Japan" float needles and seats that had springs softer than Keyster's. They were not Honda parts. I ended up making the float level 1 mm richer with them, and they worked out well. Their spring is not quite as soft as the OEM Honda spring, but it is far softer than the Keyster.

With the Keyster, the only way I have been able to make them fill the bowl at highway speeds has been to raise the floats (750) from the stock 26mm to 23mm setting. This requires fuel shutoff every time the bike is parked, as they will dribble fuel out the overflows on the low side of the bike at this level.

Honda doesn't sell an inclusive kit, you have to buy each part seperately and they are expensive!   They work right out of the box without fiddling and that's priceless.

My local Honda dealer sells them for $22 a set.  Not cheap, but my last set went 80,000 miles as I recall.
