Topic: washers under idle fuel mixture screws on 78 pd carbs

Hi,
Anybody know where I can get replacement washers that go under idle fuel mixture screws and above the o rings on 78 pd carbs. I am missing 1 washer. Are these important? Will the bike run well without them and the orings in there?

The washers help to keep the mixture screw from turning on the oring which could tear it. ACE has tiny washers as well as Radio Shack. Radio Shack sells them in a pack though.

yes you need both the O rings and the washers

Thanks! I wish I'd known about those when I needed one that was missing.

They are metric and have a smaller outside diameter than the standard metric washer of that size. I tried to source from an industrial hardware supplier but they were special order and I'd have had to order 1000 pieces. I ended up asking a friend with a model lathe to make one for me.

I was missing all four washers for a '78 750F Carbs.   Found a post where someone used number four lock washers by flattening them.  I found some yesterday at an RC airplane hobby shop.  They worked except I had to file the inside diameter with a small round file to make it a little bigger.  Seems to work fine now.

I got mine from here they also have a 25 pack of the correct o-rings.
