I guess I didn't answer the question.  I would want rubber.

Also - if the parts remain available, and are used in other bikes/equipment, then I wouldn't recommend the cost of getting some custom made.

The starter o-ring, for example, is not only used on other bikes, but also on Honda pumps.  I'd expect that that o-ring will be available for some time to come.

If your price is under the $4 that Honda charges, then it remains a good deal, and would be an excellent addition to the kit.  If the o-ring costs substantially more, due to the limited run, then I would vote to keep the o-ring out of the kit.

If you have other parts that warrant a similar investigation - let me know, and I'll do what I can.

Here are some pics of the starter cover gasket
and I had my laser cutter do it in rubber
These are the first ones and I do see a difference in the corner radius and this will be addressed

the edges are slightly burnt from the laser but they look good
the original one is in back and the new one is up front

Laser cut

The O Rings are ready to go (50 sets)
I will get a price from the laser shop today

as far as seals and bearings I am not doing that as a kit
some bearings in the clutch bikes you have to go to Koyo Japan and order
I have replaced all but 2 bearings (The ones that have locator grooves) and these are the ones that have to come
from Japan and there is a 6 month wait.

I recently bought the CB50 gasket set from Cycle Exchange (http://www.cyclexchange.net/Engine%20Parts%20%28Non-Cafe-Gaskets%29.htm).  I haven't assembled the engine yet, so I can't attest to the quality of the gaskets from experience, but they certainly look like nice gaskets.  And the set seems very complete.

The 50 sets of the O rings are on the way and i just need to call my laser guy and order 25 sets of gaskets
I still need to re-do the starter cover gasket but we just need to correct the radius in the corners
I will let everyone know when its all in and sorted to shipping

Update:  I've now finished the overhaul using the Cycle Exchange gasket set.  I'm very pleased with the gaskets.  The set was very complete, and the quality extremely good.  Although I haven't had the engine on the track yet, there were no signs of any leaks or problems during run-ups in the shop.  I would say that all the gaskets are of better quality than the Honda gaskets.

Any update on availability of the Hondamatic engine gaskets?  I started the '76 this a.m. and was blowing dark smoke, so a tear-down is in it's future...

Ealan, I think from reading your other posts that you are talking about gaskets for the CB750K/F.
This thread is about gaskets for the Hondamatics which are no longer available.

My apologies.  In my defense, I found out about the Cycle Exchange gasket set through a post on this thread, and was responding to that.
