Help me wire a brake light on my bike!
« on: January 07, 2012, 01:01:06 PM »
Hey all!

I've got a 1990 Suzuki DR350 that I want to wire a brake light for... It's a kicker only bike with no battery. The headlight only runs when the engine is on, and it runs all the time. It has a tail light mounted but not wired...

I would like to set this up as a constant "on" tail light with a brake light as well...maybe a pressure switch?

I know nothing about electrical...nothing, nada, zip, zilch...  :-\

Can this be done? Can it be done by me?

Thanks!

Call the guys at Baja Designs.  They probably have the parts or even a kit to do what you are wanting to do. I bought a complete dualsport kit from them for my XR350R and it was plug and play.

So now I've learned a few things... My bike is AC only at this point. The tail light I have is an LED, so that won't work, right?!?!

Can I add in a regulator/rectifier and go with LED's? Will that require the addition of a battery to my bike?

Cheers

the "other bikes" threads on this site might be better for your question?
