oil control valves in 400F engine
« on: February 18, 2012, 02:13:37 PM »
Hello All,
Can I ask for some advice?
I am currently rebuilding my 400f engine.
I have just replaced the cylinder block.
The Honda parts list shows two parts  (12901-333-000 valve pile control) which I do not seem to have.
Certainly I did not take them out when I stripped the engine.
Can anyone offer me some advice?
These parts are described as obsolete by the usual suppliers.
Are they essential?
Thanks,
John

I don't think you want to run without them as they seem to provide oil pressure to the valve train.  I may have a couple spares if you are sure you don't have them.

Thanks Ernest.
If you have some and would be prepared to send them to me I would be very grateful.
I live in the UK.
My address is
John Shaw

UK
Could you let me know what you would like for them and what it would cost to send them to me?
John

Hi Ernest,
Just to say I have found some second hand oil control valves over here in the UK.
Thanks for the advice and offer.
Regards,
John

You're welcome, odd yours didn't have any.  Was it running?
