Looks like the turn signal beeper. Helps remind you that you don't have self-cancelling turn signals.

Well, not so much. Honda had them as standard equipment for a few years because they misjudged the market for people like to smoke cigars while they ride. Honda was just sure it was going to be the next big thing.

On a more serious note. I need to eventually hook this thing back up. Does anyone know which color wires this thing hooks up to? There is a few unused connectors that i can use in the headlamp. It looked like a bowl  of spaghetti! I'm sure i can figure it out but any guidance would be appreciated!

Two things:
1. Why? Granted at this point it may be rare as virtually everyone took them off and bola'd them in to the next county.
2. Aren't the wires on the speaker color coded?

I think it was kinda cool to be able to hear it winking.... That is what it did right? Or was it an audible tone telling you the signal was on? Maybe the thing WAS just sitting there. Honestly, i don't recall disconnecting anything but the big white white wire connectors when i was in the headlamp. Before i took the bike apart you could hear the turn signal blinking! I do want that!

I just found it on the Wiring schematic. It is a buzzer..... I've never heard the buzzer..... What makes the winky sound??? You know the tink...tink...tink when the blinker is on?

BTW this post has gotten way silly.

I'm sure it could double as a cheese grater!

The unanswered question is:  What year did Honda start putting them on?
1972. And the '72's only had a button that would silence the buzzer.
Europe didn't get them because they thought it might confuse blind riders pedestrians. ;)

Yeah, ya' know I thought that too when I was putting my K5 back together so I reinstalled the missing buzzer.
Now it annoys me every time I ride but I've been too lazy to pop the headlight and disconnect it. ::)

It really doesn't go buzz or tink, tink, tink.  Think of it more in terms of a big truck backing up. beep...beep...beep.  ;)
