What kills me is to see them jump and wobble, I don't think I would take it calmly  ;D

Friend of mine visited Ferrari - or Lamborghini :)? - not sure, fast car factory in Italy.  You can actually pay the money and take one for a spin on a race track.  He is a smart guy and he opted for the passenger seat with a factory driver to actually feel and see the - almost - limit of the car.

I've watched that  clip many times and am still in awe. Going through the trees that fast, in and out of the shadows, that's crazy crazy.

this is not going to be a very popular post, but i have no interest whatsoever in watching Russian roulette live. and with an average of 2.4 deaths per race (239 deaths in 97 races) , it is a Russian roulette of sorts.

If though guy Ryan Facquar called it a day after his cousin died and seeing the devastating effects on wife, three kids and close family, i dont feel such a pussy saying this.

You are right TG that it does claim a lot of lives, but if you calculate how many racing miles ie how many riders X how many miles each does, the numbers become more realistic and comparable to local racing. While any death racing is tragic, it is a dangerous sport.

sorry, but totally disagree with your analysis, I road race on circuits myself, crashed this very weekend, so am well aware of the dangers, but public roads racing is on another order of magnitude. no comparison at all,
look at world endurance racing, were teams do 24 hours at full chat and tell me how many deaths there have been in the last few years.

I agree with TG. We don't have to look further than Yrjo who hurt himself seriously on a road circuit.

I won't pretend to be the safety poster-boy but if a racer is fast on a road circuit, they can also be fast on a closed circuit without unreasonable obstacles. Of course it's a dangerous sport, I just feel we need to be responsible for our own safety, and I don't understand the allure of this type of racing.

i totally agree with tg and brent , and having raced there i can tell you with first hand experience that tt racing is the most stupid sport on the planet .  riders fought for years to get purpose built circuits to race on so that one mistake did not mean the end of your career or worse life . what the death figures do not show is the amount of serious disabling injuries suffered each year . in 2006 i was in hospital in liverpool during the manx gp , they flew a few off the worst injured over and stuck them in my ward , one lad was very badly hurt and three months after leaving hospital took his own life , he does not show up in any of the accident statistics but the island killed him . when i first went over to race my sponsor asked his friend [ one of the best tt riders in history ] to give me some advice , he told me the secret of a fast lap was circuit knowledge and stupidity , and he was right .

THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH♛✔ ★HD★ 322kmh-200mph Street Race ✔ 'ISLE of MAN' TT   There are some great scenes in this.

OK I've watched the video 4 times now. I have to go before I get too old. If I don't make it next year, I'll have to shoot for 2015!! I wish I could do "Mad Sunday" but I doubt I could swing sending one of my bikes over. Can anyone recommend one of these package deals? The Classic TT looks cool!

i have done some amazingly stupid #$%* on a bike including an all out punch and kick melee on the goldwing with the wife on the back on the hills and twisties heading into brown county indiana.  when we hit nashville i pretty much dropped the bike and wife and went after the guy on the harley.  wife said she was scared the whole time, same for our friends we were riding with.   it all started because the guy on the harley tried to run my friend with my daughter on the back off the bridge coming out out of morgantown.  I would never ever try and roadrace on any surface or type of road, best to leave that to the professional insane riders.  looking back on the incident, i'm dang lucky i didnt get me and the wife killed or any of my friends or daughter hurt or killed....cant say that for the guy on the harley.
