First Blondie and now Pinkie goes to a new home
« on: January 23, 2012, 02:02:52 PM »
Jaffa is so keen on being pillion on my new S83 that she hasn't ridden Pinkie her 82 GSX400L for a while and in the end she said it was a waste of a neat little bike so she told me to sell it.
I bought the Suzi for $300 about 3 years ago and all up it seems to have cost me just under a $1000 to make it a reliable safe rider for Jaffa.
It sold for $1450 to a guy in Lower Hutt which is quite a way down the track from me so I was surprised when he turned up helmet in hand to ride it home.
I was very relieved when 5 hours later he parked it in his shed, I myself wouldn't ride an unknown bike that distance.
Now with $1450 in cash to burn, what shall I put in my shed now to rebuild? ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

So..... that would put you closer to..... Jabba Hutt then? :D

With the color of that bike did he ride away proudly or slink away in the gathering dusk? ;D

Actually he didn't mind the colour! He has a 750 water bus and a GT 380 in his shed so this won't be lonely. When he left here I was so worried about him riding all that way I got my bike out and tracked him, I found Pinkie parked up on the side of the road about a mile from my house. He struck a problem with it cutting out. I knew I had struck that problem before on this bike as it would run on Prime but not On or Reserve, the small vacuum hose from the carbs to the gas tap had split and after a quick repair job he was off and away. He intends stripping the bike back to nothing and doing a total restore on it, good on him. :)
