GZ is on his way to CB750F2 in Ayr via express post so he should arrive tomorrow.  Total distance travelled with GZ in my care was 470km or 294miles.

My intention is to ride to Innisfail on Friday. I'll take some photos on the way. Ben and I have arranged to hand over in Innisfail on Saturday. Ben will then do his bit and I will ride back to Ayr. The weather is good at the moment but Innisfail is right in the middle of the wettest area in the country so there is a good chance that we will cop a drenching at some point. Pat

Well done Pat and Ben.
Good that GZ making his way up north.

Ben, I'll PM my address to send the lizard to when you've finished showing him FNQ.

Next stop after Cairns will be Darwin and then our little buddy begins the long journey to Europe/GB.

He's certainly clocked up a few miles now and I reckon that he'd be around about mid point on the world tour.

It's really been a fantastic and united effort from everybody involved since the relay began.  8)

OK. My story.
Departed Ayr 6.45 am. My first stop was at Rising Sun Honda to purchase a jacket. I met Bernie Koppe the owner who kindly took a photo.
The next stop was Frosty Mango for a coffee break.
I arrived Innisfail around 1.30pm and met with Ben at 2.00pm. We had a good chat, took some photos and then a light meal at the Coffee Club on the esplanade and handed over GZ.
Returned to Innisfail today.
The total distance travelled was 736Km or 46omiles
Fuel used      41.14L
Fuel economy 5.59L/100Km
The trip was great and meeting Ben most enjoyable

Onya Pat & Ben. Glad to hear the handoff went well. GZ sure has had a lot of riders meet eachother to pass him along on his journey. Lots of fine dining experiences as well. I don't think there's many model CBs that he hasn't been a passenger on by now either. Fine lookin pair of bikes there too. Hope you have a good time with him before you pass him on Ben.  ;)

ok today was the MOST absolutely perfect day out with GZ, but first here is a map of the trip i did on Saturaday 12th, from cairns to innisfail and back...

ok now that is over with, back to the day.

started with GZ, making all sorts of noise down stairs, wanting to get out amongst it, so dutifully i packed him up and headed for Kurranda

and yes its that twisty...very excellent.

i stopped half way up at a look out and got some snaps, but its bloody hard to take a pick of yourself, the bike and the lil terror by yourself, so i roped some tourists in to take a shot   =)

then looking out over the sea

Some great shots there Ben and good countryside.
We're all getting some good weather right up through the north now and it's a nice change to see some blue skies.

It looks like the lizard is enjoying the twistys and the scenery as well.

A few more days riding in that general direction mate and you'll be here in Darwin.  ;)
It is a long hard haul through there dodging stray cattle and road trains.

Looking forward to some more photos mate.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Sure looks like a great day for it Ben. Looking at your bike, it looks like you had plenty of brakes available for the downhill runs as well.
It wasn't til I looked at the satellite pic that I could appreciate the topography of the place.

Hope you don't mind, but I just had to post the pic I was looking at.

Good job mate.  ;)

Ben, I hope you were able to keep GZ away from "TED" the big croc at Hartley's Creek. For people that don't know "TED" is a pretty mean looking 5.2m croc and Hartley's Creek is a zoo where crocodiles are the main feature. It is well worth a visit. No doubt there are bigger ones around especially up where Mick comes from. Pat

I'll take GZ to the museum here in Darwin to meet Sweetheart.
He's a 5.1mtr (Nearly 17ft) monster that weighed in at 780kgs (1720lbs)

Sweetheart was captured in 1979 and was a bit of a nasty lad who had a dislike for outboard motors. (Chomp chomp)
I think that Oscar the croc is somewhere in Qld and is a bit bigger than Sweetheart.

GZ felt right at home with the roaring, and general human terror....can you see the smile?

and you know how hard this pic was...lol

last stop for the day, was to a local mechanic @ Cattana's Motorcycle repairs, who is more than happy to help, spin a yarn, give advice,...and owns a 1971 cb750K1, 836, electronic ign, straight through 4-4 twin disc, very very nice bloke and a beautifull bike. Most bike shops wont work on old bikes up here, so i go here when i dont have the time to do my own work.

so if you are ever in cairns, drop in and say Gday to Brett...
