CarbonGuy and his dad were nice fellas. They are into prosthetic devices which is a little more in my college trained field.

I just knew that Sam Green put his Mini Cooper in his carry on and was over in the neighborhood
you don't see original coopers to often but with right side drive is even more rare
I did look to see if it might be Sam but he had a head full of hair:)))))
sorry Sam

Looks like a $hitload of epoxy on that head Jim. ;D Just received an Ohlins rear shock for my RC51.....different link arriving Tuesday. Shock is nice...low/high speed compression, rebound, ride height etc. Separate hydraulic preload is great too. ;)

That head came off of a top gas bike (Twin plug head big everything). It was a sacrifice to the gods of speed
when he shot a 150HP shot of Nox (it was a progressive shot) and there wasn't enough timing backed off. Detonated the motor
and split the head.............He wanted me to weld it but he had another head and got that one going..........

Let me know how that shock works Mike
I will call soon

WELL...................good news.............the wiring harness is almost completed, but
enough so that we started the bike last night and heat sinked the motor to operating
temperature. charging system is doing what its supose to be doing
everything looks good and sounds tight. a little drip of oil coming from the shifter cover
but that's an easy fix.............going over to finish it tonight and get ready for Barber vintage this weekend
will keep you posted

Excellent news Jim. Long time coming huh?! It looked good as parts on the bench. It looked great as a bike. I know you're looking forward to that first throttle twisting ride  :)  Have fun at Barber's. Hoping you can do Bradenton too. Maybe we can get together in ATL first week in November otherwise.

The journey has been long and sometimes aggravating but its going to be well worth it when its all said and done.
from my last post we did heat sink the motor and everything sounds good and tight. a couple of leaks around the mag
cover and shifter cover but thats it. checked the charging system and thats doing good. the wiring is going to be top shelf
once its done. the reason that I wanted David to do this was because  he did the wiring on his pro ET bike and its very
neat and tidy but most of all its all out of the way and of coerce it works. Yes its been almost a year but I would do it again
and I am with my black GS that is being tuned at livingoods.

SO the only thing that is not finished is the headlight, taillight and oil temp gauge.
got the bike home and my computer guy had sent over the correct drivers for the USB to serial port adapter.
got that working with the lap top. Down loaded the software from MSD for the MC-4 box. Hooked up the lap top
to the box, powered up the ignition and proceeded to down load the info that was in the box. This box came from a pro stock
drag racer so there are some things that I am going to change
The start retard setting was at 0 and that made the bike impossible to start when it was warm. He static timed his system to 38 degrees
but when you use a 24 volt starter cart to zing over the motor, its gong to start.
I set it at 10 degrees and after talking to Mike Rieck, I will change this to 15/20 degrees
I don't need a 15,000,00 RPM red line so I changed that to 9500 RPM,s
I put a MSD boost sensor on and the box recognized that as a 3 bar sensor and it showed up on one of the graphs to let me know
when the boost starts so we start to back timing down

I took the bike out for a short ride in the neighborhood and everything seemed to work fine, which is a good thing.
happy so far

I have decided to switch out the drag pipe that came with the turbo system and switch to a more user friendly system
I have also changed out to the stock pegs and controls too. its much more rider friendly now and still has the old school
turbo look

still have more work to do on the bike but we are much closer to getting it finished soon (I hope)

had some set backs but its ready to go
gong to pick up the 1100 this week and drop off the GS840 and the turbo

had some minor glitches on the turbo with the starter, and moved the battery on top of
the MSD box to get it out of the back side of the turbo

well keep you posted
