 Why not " BLUEBYU " ?  Hey wait a minute !   :o    That's gonna be my new license plate !!   ;)   8) 8)

Or how about " 2FAST4U "  ?   I use that for a web name on another website i belong to.  The problem is going through the process at the dmv to find out what's available.  Here in California almost all of the cool plate names are taken.   :(  >:(

I don't think we'll have a problem finding the bike in a crowd either.

Ok, so is it TurboRed??. Can't use Redneck Express. i think Chris Hand uses that for his top fuel bike.

Ok while everything is out being worked on and waiting for parts
I have decided that the ignition needs to be addressed.
I have a used and a new Dyna 2000 but with all the problems that we had
on Sams drag bike, I am a little gun shy about using the Dyna stuff. (at least the Dyna 2000) The Dyna S is fine
are there any other ignitions out there other than the Dyna stuff and the MSD ignitions?
I have looked that the MSD MC-3 and the MC-4. The MC-4 has a USB that can be plugged in to a laptop and adjust
the ignition curves and once boost kicks in can retard the ignition
but its $750.00. The MC-3 is the replacement for the MC-1 that Sam is running on his bike
and once Bill replaced it, the was never a worry about the ignition again
Mike can you chime in on this?
opinions are welcome

thanks

Jim
I try the Dyna first as you have it on hand. It can be used to retard timing vis boost pressure....I assume you need some type of boost sensitive switch as your system is not modern. Maybe it can be done by RPM.....I don't remember off hand.
If you have any problems with the 2000 you can switch to the MSD as you will be using the same ignition rotor. I would not replace the 2000 unless it fails.

I can get a fully programmable ignition c/w twin coils & pick-up's, for approx. $600. I'm going to use it on our 836 HiPo motor.

It's got some trick options included too if needed!

I'm just drawing up the backplate for the pick-ups.

Jim, I know this may be useless info, but I have two D2000's, one in my street 750, the other on my 550 I'm racing. Both were bought in that fuzzy period for Dyna. I had a pickup problem that they eventually came good for. At that time I talked at length with one lad there and he claimed they had approx 4% problem issues. It seems to me they have worked out much of their inconsistancies. Point is these ignitions are the cats ass in so many ways, I wouldn't hesitate to use it either.

OK it seems the consensus is try the Dyna 2000 and see what happens
The next will be the MSD system
thanks
