Today I was able to get caught up on my work and wanted to do a little work in the turbo

Got everything plumed
extra vents from the valve cover
plumbing up the fuel pump and tying in to the fuel gauge (I have about 5 PSI on the gauge)
switched over to a new set of Dyna triggers sense I am using the Dyna pick up (But MSD recommends both)
got the triggers talking to the MSD box and static timed everything. then checked both sets of coils and there both
throwing off a very nice spark. plumed in my oil temp gauge to the feed line going in to the oil cooler
checked oil preasure one more time and its good

No more excuses,................its time to fire this puppy up

and it did after the second or third rotation of the motor..............kinda scard me at how fast it started...........

no leaks and the sound is really something to behold..............

held it at 2000 RPM,s and heat cycled the motor and shut of down al the while checking for leaks...........

all is good

except the over flow hose from the carb is spitting out fuel but I need to check my float hights and adjust

damn this thing sounds good

more to come and a new wiring harness in a couple if weeks when David is done with his season of drag racing..........

You're welcome.Tho,it was the bolt holding on rotor that was loose.Stator is the windings bolted into the dyno cover.Samauto did the same thing last year! ;) ;D Bill

Great news Jim. I think that seat will come in real handy when the turbo spools up. It should keep you attached to the bike and not sliding off the rear.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The thing that rotates is the rotor.  The thing that stays stationary is the stator.

The thing that kicks azz is this turbo build!  WOW, great work!

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

well done jim ,just a thought , is 5 psi ok with that carb ? maybe running it a little lower would stop the overflow . i run my carbs on the turbo 500 at around 3.5 psi .

regards
robert

I am looking in to that Robert
someone else thought that the pressure might be too high
my pressure gauge reads almost 6.5 lbs
I adjusted my floats 1.5mm and will do a test as soon as I can get some
better gas. the gas I was using started to smell a little funny so its getting changed also

will keep you posted

Got a fuel regulator and the fuel pressure is 3lbs and the carb does not leak
fired the motor and fuel pressure was stable at 3 to 3.5 Lbs even at 6 to 7k RPMs

one problem solved and many more to go

love the smell of race gas threw a turbo

So who has a halfway decent guess about how much horsepower that turbo adds ?

Is it like 57 or 68 stock ?

I see my 76 motor is 67 stock BHP, well that's an x year 836 so that added a bit and now a turbo too.

I bet it smokes the tire w/a front brake stand.  ;D

Depends on the boost. 12lbs will get you, I'd guess 150% to 170% increase. I have to add that you are lucky to 50 to 55HP to the rear wheel with a stock 750
