The tallest brass item is your main jet and just below that is the mains emulsion tube that the main jet screws into. The small brass tube next to the main is slow jet or more correctly the pilot jet. It is pressed into or swagged into the carb body during assembly as an interference fit. It can be pulled straight out for cleaning. I use a parallel plier with soft jaws to remove it (see below). Others have use leather pads and ordinary pliers. Some are harder to remove than others. But, care should be taken not to bend it. I don't like twisting the jet as I feel that removes too much metal and I don't want the jet to fall out later on.
Pull a hard as it takes to get it out, I haven't hurt anything doing this. (Well, I did bash my chin one time holding it to close to the tool.)
