Topic: kill switch wiring

I am finishing up installing my CDI and I have a question about kill switch wiring. The diagram I have shows a black and white wire leaving my CDI and going to the kill switch. I am going for minimal wiring and don't have a kill switch. Can I just not hook it up to anything, or does it need to be grounded? How do kill switches typically work?

the kill switch just breaks the circuit... you have to jumper something in the headlight.... cant remember now what wires.... your prob gonna regret it tho i do

I was way off track, the black and white wire actually goes to the ignition switch. So my question is; after the wire goes to the ignition where should it go?


Kill switch breaking the circuit thing makes total sense.

What CDI unit?  Do you have a wire diagram for it?  Could be relevant to know what bike, too.  And, how much of it remains stock electrically.

BTW, I had the same problem when I tried to wire in my flabberbuster.

The cdi is a generic china one for a moped or small motorcycle. the bike is a 90' cb125 (just realized I posted this in the wrong area... woops, all my other rides are sohc). Wiring is limited to headlight, taillight, ignition stuff and charging stuff. Bike didn't come with ignition so I'm gonna use a radio shack switch (its just a little winter project around town fun bike and I only paid 62.50 for it so I don't care to spend too much money on the thing).
