CB 900 custom frame comparison for rebuild
« on: January 25, 2012, 10:44:04 AM »
Hey All,

I have found a nice 1980 Honda cb900 custom for sale which needs some work. One of the pieces that I am going to be replacing is the fuel tank. My question is: Will a standard fuel tank from a Honda CB 750F fit onto the frame for a CB 900 custom without drastic (welding) modifications? Is there no difference in frame between versions of same year CBs? This bike is currently missing the tank and I prefer the hard lines of the F model. Thanks!

Great forum btw. This is my first post here.

there is a 750 on here with the 900 tank fitted to it, so using reverse thinking, it should work. as to how much work is entailed ?

The 900 has the  2 smaller tubes under the tank are humped to allow top-end removal.. they are straight on the 750s That may cause a problem.,,,,,,,,
