Sidecar snow fun
« on: January 23, 2012, 05:59:10 AM »
Mid-Sunday morning and the phone goes...its a local friend of mine, Peter..... he has come to a dead stop at the roundabout on Center Street, JP after his front wheel locked up on the sidecar;

"Come quick with tools" he says

"what tools?" I reply

Any tools!" he pleads...

So I fill a bag with tools and zip off in the Subaru to find him at the end of a skid mark just after the roundabout. The wheel has now freed itself and likely the result of an over tightened front brake cable. Now that its cooled  off the wheel can move so we drive off and get back to Peters place. Once we decide the cable must have been the cause we loosen it up and then decide to go find some unploughed car park to practice snow driving - Peter in the sidecar and me in the Subaru. We finally end up in Home Depot on the VFW (though later we would cross the road and find an even better spot and Savers.

On the road and Peters paying attention to the lights:

ok thats better

Peter watching where he is going

and then he takes off..that rig can fly!

Getting the sidecar ready for some snow fun

and away he goes

notice the lean

hitting the deep stuff

donuts!

then with his son on board

oooh I feel sick... 8)

then some really deep stuff...oh oh..

stuck!

despair! I want to go home!  ;)

Then yours truly takes over.....first time on a sidecar!!   ;D

wheeeee

donuts!!

looking rather pleased with himself ;)

Then we went across the road and some great fun doing the same with the Subaru and more sidecar shenanigans!

Great way to spend a Sunday  8)

cheers
Andy

Looks like fun...  I don't know if you realised this, but, the sidecar is on the wrong side of the bike ::)
