Same size carbs. 40mm Lectrons. At some point i need to put a set of carbs on the bike with both slow and fast jets so i can utilize part throttle launches. Lectrons have no pilots and are only designed for idle and full throttle for race conditions. They work great on wheelie bar bikes where you use a two step to leave the line at full throttle. On a no bar hand clutch bike, the initial leave is part throttle for a very short time and  then its full throttle the rest of the way. I have used Lectrons sucessfully on no bar bikes in the past. You have to know how to finese them for the best results.

Will shoot for a few passes at Darlington on wednesday night if the weather is good. I'll post results afterwards.

dragracer,

Would like to get out this afternoon but its getting time to prepare for a garden so i think my time is better spent on the tractor instead of on the dragbike. Wow, i can't believe i would forego a day at the track for hard work-lol. I may try to go someplace this weekend to do some testing. Will post results whenever i can make some passes.

The main thing is; Dragbikes can take food off the table, gardens put it back on-lol

Still having problems with the bike not revving as it should. Couldn't qualify worth a crap saturday at the races so i sat out eliminations on sunday. Had limited success on the wheelie bar bike and make a few rounds on saturday.

Points to something electrical now- time to go back to the  basics. I intend to bypass the ignition controller and go straight to the coils to see if it revvs correctly. If this doesn't give any success it then points to the coil(s). Process of elimination.

Served as pit beeoooooooootch the rest of the time-lol. Hung out with the rest of my Team Sam Green team mates from time to time. Sam and Bill had fun on the Honda's and the crowd enjoyed seeing the old school bikes standout in the sea of cookie cutters made of plastic and aluminum.

Will update when i find the gremlin. Time to call in ghostbusters.

Wow, i didn't realize it had been so long since i posted anything on this thread. In fact i didn't even touch the bike since this last post until about a week ago. After some checks i decided to make a few changes to some electrical components on the bike. The Schnitz Pro Series 2 box i originally installed on the bike didn't show a display so i sent it to Schnitz and they repaired it for me. I reinstalled and went on to put new coils on the bike and replace the main power switch. I fired the bike up last week and she revved perfectly and idled great after a bit of tuning on the carbs.

I took it out to my local track last thursday and made a few passes. The first pass the bike actually made it down the track under full power although it did spin a bit off the line. The ticket showed a 1.50 sixty foot and a 6.18 ET @ 113 mph. Not bad for the first full pass. Second pass i decided to leave a bit harder but it spun the tire so i just cruised down the track. I left somewhat pleased with the results.

We took the trip up to Rockingham on saturday afternoon for the MIROCK superbike series. I decided to enter the bike in the Crazy 8's class which is why i built it to begin with. We got there just before the 2nd to last qualifying sesssion but i didn't have enough time to get bike ready as i was also prepping my wifes bike so i could borrow it to race in the 5.60(1/8th mile) index class. I did catch the final qualifying session but made up my mind to just run the new build on motor for the first pass to get a baseline. I knew i had a final shakedown pass on sunday at which time i would set up the bike for a nitrous pass. I rode the bike to the lanes and was close to the first few pairs to go out. The bike did a great burnout so i felt it would be a decent pass. I staged the bike and when the light came down i launched conservatively with thoughts of just making a full 1/4 mile pass on motor. Well, the bike pulled hard through the 60' but when i hit the shift button for second geear, the dang bike wouldn't shift. I bumped the button again but nothing happened. I then lifted my foot up and manually shifted the bike to be sure i got down the track across the line so i would at least get put on the qualifying sheet. Below is the ticket from that pass. As you can see, my 60' was not far off from my opponent ( Jeremy Teasely), so i felt ok with that part of the run- the light did suck though-lol.

Didn't realize that so much time had passed since i last posted anything about this bike. Below is a shot of one of my qualifying passes at the Manufacturers Cup race last weekend in Valdosta for the Crazy 8's class. I think this was an 8.92 pass.

I only made one qualifying pass all weekend due to trying to get the wife ready to race and then not feeling well the next day. I went out second round due to a crappy reaction time but ran an 8.74@157mph on that pass. When you leave behind your opponent, you have to give chase and hope you get there first without breaking out.

Link to a youtube video of a qualifying pass at the Man Cup race last weekend. Unfortunately I had an empty nitrous bottle and it only ran a 9.40. Put a fresh bottle in on the next pass and ran a 8.888@ 156mph.
