Air filter question
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:48:41 AM »
Sorry if this has been covered but I had no luck finding any info on this.

I just picked up a replacement Uni filter for my 550k1 and noticed that the filter that was in the box had a hole punched out of it for the "gas scavenging" pipe. The filter on the bottom of the assembly is hardly a filter anymore and I looked at another airbox I have laying around and it doesn't even have a filter in that particular part.

Should I remove the unit and leave the filter intact or do as the PO and punch a hole in the new filter? There is a different type of foam on the area where the pipe would go.

i hope this makes sense.
