LED Spinner Tail Lights
« on: May 26, 2006, 12:47:24 PM »
I did some searching on the site and did not find much mention of the spinner lights seen on ebay.  I bought a pair for both my bikes and they sure are neat looking spinning around.  Anyone else use these things?  Anyone have any trouble with the law?  I researched Iowa code and it said that tail lights should not blink except in an emergency, but these really do not "blink".  There is always at least one led on at any given time. (FINE LINE).

I have had at least one officer behind me since I got them, but no flashing lights came on behind me.  My thought is, anything that gets me more attention as a motorcyclist is good....now on to the headlight oscillator....any thoughts?

I have seen a few sportbikes with these "dancing" bulbs in them, and personally think they are ghey, with a Capitol G. I am sure they draw more attention to the back of the bike, but I could just see some old lady pointing and staring directly at the dancing light, not see the guy in front of her slammed on his brakes, and then both cars wrap you up into a twisted metal pretzel...

My 4cents...

Don't be that way.
You ask peoples opinions, and you get it.

Bottom line is, if you want to put them on your bike, more power to ya...

I'm not ghey (well, I'm pretty sure I'm not, but if someone offered me a free supercharger for a blow job.........) er, anyway, I haven't seen them on a bike out here, but I reckon they'd be pretty cool, as some other posers, er, posters have mentioned, they've seen them, so I guess they have the desired effect?

I might buy one, but that doesn't mean you'll be seeing me hanging out at the "Blue Oyster Bar", unless of course you know someone with a supercharger, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

He'll need more power to run the disco lights and sound system that will inevitably follow.

That being said, LED's have their place in the world.  They are bright and last forever.  I might end up rewiring a set of small signals who's innards have been vibrated to dust with some LED's.  No dance moves however - unless I set up a bike trailer with a pole and a VIP room, there will be no dancing near my bike.
