cb500 front end question
« on: February 01, 2012, 02:44:41 PM »
I have a 1971 cb500 with 15,000 miles that sat in a garage for the last 30 some years.  I noticed when I turn the front end from side to side there seems to be a snag or flat spot right in the middle.  The bearing in the neck maybe???? I have never felt this on any other of my honda's before

Its not the actual bearings, its a wear notch in the race(s) they run on. Get a taper roller set and fit those instead
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
