Pie in the Sky Idea for Rear fender
« on: January 25, 2014, 02:48:53 AM »
So I know the look is more for the Chopper style, but I love the look for the fender covering the rear wheel to such a large degree. I know i'm never going to have one of those gigantic car wheels that they seem to be putting on the now adays. but I really do like the look of that fender going from the inside of the wheel well (looks like connecting with the swingarm) all the way around to the back half. Essentially it looks like a 180degree fender

i'm not sure if i'm making a lot of sense right now, but I hope the jist is coming across.

Can anyone give me any suggestions about how to go about doing it? are their any pitfalls that I may be unaware of?

Thanks for the great collective wisdom

I know yall' laugh at me, but I love the full fender look. I think that one is a bit too bulky, and it doesn't hug the wheel as much, but yes, that is somewhat the jist

Not laughing at yah! I love the look of the full fender. When I did my build I was looking for something that few had done. I looked at all the bob'ed ,cut, chopped and modified fenders. They just didn't do it for me.  I would have preferred a less bulky, more hugging fender but just couldn't find one. Maybe something off an older bike! Back before the chrome ones came out and they used full, steel fenders.

It's the old Indian look.
