I haven't "played" with them yet, let me know if you want to borrow them.

I'm sending the gold side covers to Greggo in California (trade). He bought a great looking gold tank and these will match.  Since my K1 project will most likely be blue, it would be a shame to paint over that original gold paint.

Are you going with the blue/green color of the sandcast years? I love that color scheme!

I'm actually thinking of the Polynesian Blue, I believe it was a European only color.

But I have  K5 & K7 project bikes to get out of the way before the K1.

Oh i forgot, when deciding which bike to ride or wrench you look at each desginated finger to choose a bike... Must be rough having enough bikes to count on both hands!!!!!!! Are you trying to catch up to Eric?

BTW, I don't think you ever mentioned how many garages you have for all your toys...

I don't want as many bikes as Eric! The K5 & 7 will have new owners once complete.

I'm using two garages to wrench and a vacant commercial space for storage.

That Polynesian Blue is the prettiest color ever sprayed on a 750 IMO..and you barely see them too!

Honda did that nice Poly Blue in 1971 for the CB450 also.

It's been 3.5 months since I bought these bikes/parts. Been buzy with the K5 cafe and home projects but finnally had some time to pull the K8 out of storage and brought it to my home shop.

Had new Dunlop D404's mounted, put in some fresh fuel, charged the battery and she fired right up!
Cleaned it up a little and went for a ride to Lake Travis...

Since you have a K5 and a K8, what differences do you feel, if any, between the two?
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Thanks guys.  I like it but it rides much differant than the earlier models, could be in part to being in stock trim.
And it is so quiet, almost too quiet, as I like a healthy sounding motor [but not open headers]. At speed, I pulled in the clutch and the when the R's went down to idle, I could not even hear it. Since the stock exhaust is in such [rare] good cond, I won't even consider an aftermarket exhaust.

Hey Steve-O,
You just acquired about 4,000 new friends.  I don't need any of this, just wanted to congratulate you on a great find.  If I had been given this opportunity and was offered it for $50, my wife would say "You don't need another motorcycle!!!" >:(    Wives, you gotta love 'em, because divorce is more costly than a motorcycle.

Hey Bob - the trick is not to ask!  Does your wife ask you when's she buys another purse or pair of shoes that she doesn't need? Mine certainly doesn't!

damn it rides the nice already? You have a nice find there I'd say. Plan to keep or pass on to the next SOHC rider? Is the K5 cafe complete?

Yes, the K8 is a rider, did a short 20 miles yesterday, no problems. Could use a battery and fork seals, but other than that bit was a 1 day restore project. It is so clean, original and different than my other bikes (and cheap) that i will keep it for now. I will sell the K7 once that is running since it's the same bike.

I dropped the K5 cafe project at fellow forum member The Architect's shop for tuning. He needed an engine case and I needed work so we made a deal. He has a little more time than me to wrench right now. I told him no rush but hope to get it back in a well or two.

I've tried that argument and she replies "Well, my shoes don't cost $2000!!!".  But you are correct, I've always believed it is better to ask forgiveness that to request permission.   ;D

I am lucky with my wife, she doesn't say a thing about how I spend my money as long as I pay my half of the bills.  And, vise versa.  Been that way since day one and 15 years later, it still works well.

Mother Lode Part two:

About three weeks ago, I checked out a link on a nice bike that Chewbacca [Kyle] posted, it was a real nice bike in NY for cheap. I posted that I wish I could find one. He posted back that he was willing to check out a bike if I found one in his area. Not 15 minutes later, no BS, I found three CB750's for sale from some guy in NY. I immediatly PM'd Chewbacca and asked how far Naples, NY was from him and if he was interested in going to see them the following day, a Sunday. The CL ad stated to text about the bike, so I did, no resonse for a while. I decided to go for a ride down to the park, stopped there and checked my phone. Chew had called so I called him back. He said he was willing to go that day to check out the bikes. Then I received a text back from the seller and asked if he was available to show the bikes, he was. Chew was on his way, called me when he got there and described the bikes and I told him to make an offer. No go, so I paid his asking price and Chew gave a deposit [Thanks again!]

Well, I finally got them today:

K1? built 7/70. Custom exhaust! Wrong side covers.

And this K1 came with it! Future cafe? perfect for chopping!!

And also this K2!! Nice 341's. The runner of the bunch. Valley Green, should clean up.

All these came out of NY. Special thanks to Chewbacca [Kyle] for checking 'em out for me. [Gave him a little beer money!]

And if thats not enough, was browsing CL during lunch, and found this K6 and bought it too! Yes, I'm crazy but have 4 more projects to keep me busy til 2020!

When it rains, it pours. I was really wanting a 400F!! Wanna trade?
