550F and rearsets
« on: February 01, 2012, 03:15:58 PM »
My present build is a cb500 motor in a 550F frame cafe racer style. My intention is to run rearsets, but I'm wondering if the position of the standard sidestand will interfere with the rearsets. Anyone running this setup ? Was the sidestand OK or did it have to be repositioned foward on the frame. ATM in the up position it looks pretty close to where the rearsets will mount. :-\

Are you using the 500 or the 55f kicker?  Sometime you can get the 550f kicker to clear the rearsets.  The 500 kicker will tend to hit the rearsets on the way down.

I have a '77 CB550F with home brew rear-sets and no stand conflicts at all.
How are you planning on mounting rear-sets?

I was going with the Raask sets as they are the only ones I've found ready made for the 550F. Too much bs involved trying to figure all the different links, arms and mounts etc for diy. Would have prefered the Tarozzis but they dont seem to make em for the 550F. ???
