CB 750 F question..
« on: January 31, 2012, 05:36:42 AM »
Greetings,

Can any "F" owners tell me if the head pipe off a 1976 CB 750 F will fit on a 1978 CB 750 F?

They appear the same but not quite sure. Thought I better ask.

Yes - the spacing is the same as far as I know.

The 77-78F header looks different and has a smaller collector but should fit, since the frames are very close if not the same.  I traded for a 77-78 header recently to try to make a muffler like the ones I make for the 75-76. the header is here but the bike isn't right now. The later one looks like a 4-2-1 design in the stamped collector section.

Thanks guys. I thought I would "try" to outspend Stev-o today.   :P

Found a set of OEM CB 750-F2 exhaust still in the wrapper. Accepted my best offer. On the way. Price will not be revealed.  ::) ::) ::)

DUDE! that looks like a little cosmolene on that header. Sweet! See what I mean about the- tri wye or 4-2-1 design on the collector? If those fit K models we would have to fight over them.

Last one i seen was about $1.700.00  But that 4-2-1 is a nice pipe, if anyone knows of a stock muffler let me know, I had this welded up to slip on, sounds good, had to drill holes in the back at the baffle, a little too much back pressure, but it is quite and looks kinda old school, until i stumble on a stock muffler. paid $ 725.00 for the bike.

What should I use to clean that off Don R?
