Honda dealer close to me takes in a CB750 on trade.

That's right. Found out from forum member Travis who lives near me. He was looking around at the dealership when he saw what he thought was a 750K1. So several days later I called the dealer asking if what I heard was true and it was. But it was a 750K6 instead of a K1. The employee said the bike was in such near new original condition and still with the 341 pipes that the owner of the dealership was going to keep it for himself :(

No telling how much money the owner lost by trading it in instead of selling it himself :o ???

I ran into essentially the same deal about 10 years ago. Owner died. Wife had the bike (750 K6) on consignment at a dealer. Didn't run, but pristine w/13,000 miles. The dealer wanted $2,500, but after they couldn't get it running, I ended up dragging it home for $500.

That happened here about 3 years ago.  I walked into the place with cash and they had just let a guy make payment plans on it.  Real nice K1, original exhaust and everything...
