Hello from Joplin Missouri!
« on: February 01, 2012, 08:06:42 AM »
Hello everyone, just another newbie here. I have a 1976 cb550F I plan on bringing back fron the dead. I bought the bike from a salvage yard last week and have plans of a resomod project with my 9 year old son. I hope to learn a ton from the forum and hopefully will be able to contribute a few things as well.

Hey Eric, welcome to the forum. How's Joplin these days after that tornado? Recovering nicely I hope. I've got an old buddy that owns the bar 'McMorrows Triple L' just off the courthouse square over in Carthage. Need to get back down there & visit sometime...oh yeah, be sure and post pics, maybe even start a build thread to document the work you & your son do together. 8)

Welcome to the Forum, Eric.  The pic thing is probably file size.  The max pic size is 1024KB.  Use the resize option on your graphic editor and reduce the size then clicK on the "Attachments and other options" line just below the text box, then click on the browse button and select your resized pic.

Don't forget to post in the 500/550 Registry thread as well.

Welcome.
This forum is awesome when it comes to advice and info.  I printed out a lot from FAQ section when I got my K1.  Also I learned so much from certain members' post. Spent many hours here even way before I got into posting babe and cat pictures.

Thanks for the tips on sizing my pix MJ. I have the seat and tank off now, Ive been looking for a tank on ebay, aand ill recover the seat soon. the motor is free, the exhaust is in the trash, and I plan on adding clubman bars and bar end mirrors. Oh and the first thing to go was the giant luggage rack/sissy bar combo; HIDEOUS! The 70's were a crazy time..

Thanks for the invite, that sounds like an outrageous time! It would be sick to ride with a pack of other vintage SOHC Honda’s. Very cool idea. If the 550s not on the road, I also have an 81 650!
