Where in the Lehigh Valley,Pa. can I get soda blasting done ?
« on: February 01, 2012, 08:32:47 AM »
Hi :),
I have a pair of CB350 twin cylinders that I want to install on my CB350 twin after the cylinders were bored out and honed to size..there's a little corrosion and black patina on the fins.I don't have a shop or access to a compressor & I'm new to this Lehigh Valley,Pa. area over here in E.Pa. I just wonder if there are any members not far from me who have a soda blasting cabinet who can do it for me for $20 or so..?  ;) :)

I may have found a small privateer just outside(Northwest about 25 miles outside)of the "actual" Lehigh Valley...  :) ,it sure has been a lot of phone calls...  :P ,but this man really has a soda blasting cabinet and does lots of different types of jobs for people when it comes to small parts  ;) ;since there isn't anybody else who cares to set-up for cabinet soda blasting it seems this man is very busy.

The man's name is Jeff and his business is called Blast N Coat..Soda Blasting and Powder Coating in New Tripoli,Pa.  :)

I was at HF today, saw this:

http://www.harborfreight.com/portable-abrasive-blaster-kit-37025.html

only 3.5cfm@40psi, doable with a 2hp compressor.

Very very tempted.

Yeah..! that's great for mobile stuff; the only concern I have about mobile is...who will see the "white cloud"..and how much will they care ? I would need a designated area where it would be commercially OK to do. I need to go 1/2 with someone to rent a shop someday soon;I did that w/ a Welder back in the 90's until I found a landlord who had an old 15' x 30' shed and a mobile home for rent.I enjoyed living there for 5 years and really miss that location...he sold the property in 2000 :( and the new "property manager" wasn't someone I could deal with...so, I moved off of the island.God knows what the future holds...He may surprise me too  :).
