Jason,

Just PM'ed you. Nope, not me with an overbore kit in it. I kept my engine with new OEM pistons, rings, vlaves etc. Did use heavy duty cam chain, valve springs and a TTR cam chain 'horseshoe' tensioner.

Those kits are sold by a guy down here in Australia. He lists them all the time, so don't worry if you miss out on it, there will be more. However, surely you can find a kit in America? Might save you some on shipping.

Rick.

Well I am glad I didn't buy them. I had originally decided to just restore the damaged parts but as of last night I stripped it down to the frame. I will get the frame recoated along with my head, cylinders, covers, wheels, hubs and spokes. I also spent another 300$ at Dave's. If your going to do something do it right. I ended up being lucky that whoever started on this bike replaced the pistons and rings so I'm all set there. I took a bunch of pictures, will be posting them when I get a break. Thanks guys for all the help and by the way she said yes and all was great.

I love old Dave's, but that shredded paper packing stuff gets everywhere. Lol

You're lucky you got a box. I normally get my DSS orders in padded brown paper bags that have this strange powdery paper lining. The bags are folded over on themselves and taped with what seems like an entire roll of DSS packing tape. The only way to get into the bag is to cut it open, releasing the powdery paper dust everywhere. The stuff is terrible!

Tools for floats, already rebuilt carbs and used the same floats. Set them to a little over 21. Good or bad? I'm going to have to run pod filters until I can find the carb to filter 4 to 1.

Started to dink around with polishing. Not so bad but far from perfect.

Next I'm going to do this right, and tear down to the frame. Might as well.

Also taking pics of removable frame items. Rick you where right about that air box. It's a beast. I took out the fender liner and that seem to help.

Next are the electrical things on the motor. Good news, points were new. Bad news, I already bought them. Oh well spares.

That's better, There is a ton of spray paint on the forks.. but they're not in that bad of shape... how do I remove it without damaging the chrome underneath ?

Assuming you mean the tubes, lacquer thinner always removed spray paint and will not harm the chrome-not much will, I know acid will.  Lots of info here, ask questions whenever you need help...Larry

Now the rest of the frame and front end to go. Get rid of the old ones. And then left with a lone frame.

Now on to the motor, case breather cover,(Just in case you were wondering I wear scrubs everyday because I work at a nuclear power plant) removing bolts fora rocker cover (my friend is reading out of the manual step by step, very helpful), removed tensioner and cam gear bolts. Cam and chain separated, notice I tied the chain to something to prevent it falling into the case, and on ton head bolts. With the head removed the pistons are black but look very good. You guys tell me what you think.
