Ducati Sport Classic front end on a CB750?
« on: February 01, 2012, 10:02:19 PM »
Hi All,

I've seen plenty of people her swap out GSXR and GL1000 front ends to our bikes, but does anyone know if a Ducati Sport Classic or GT1000 front end would work? Obviously you'd have to swap out the tree stem and bearings, but this might be an easier way to retain the spoked wheel and gain dual discs in the front.

Thoughts?

Anything is possible with enough time and money.

I'd imagine you might need to source some custom bearings for the stem, and/or you might need to make a custom stem to fit the Honda head tube.  Aside from that though, any front end should be able to go on the bike.

The bearings should be available, but you'll have to work with a bearing supplier to get the right dimensions.

i was thinking the same thing about the classic sport rolling stock, was having a look at one the other day, i like the spoke wheels and the great brakes, and with a bit of messing round (jack shaft) could probably run the 190 section rear tire=)

if you do it, keep us in the loop yeah=)

It's kinda funny, because I have a GT1000 sitting right next to the 750 in the garage and was looking at both bikes side by side last night thinking it could work. I'll have to se if I can source a used front end though, as I'd rather not cannibalize that one. I'll keep you guys updated.
