we don't know why Bear does this?first he always had two balls in his gob,hed chase a thrown one with another already in his mouth,now he gets three in there?hell end up a wide mouth frog dog!

The local news showed a coyote repelling jacket and collar for small dogs. It has body armor and spikes sticking out that repel the bite of a coyote. There was a story of it actually saving a small dog.

yeah I guess youd have to watch out for #$%* like that around?worst thing here might be snake bites on dogs?or if up north crocs?cane toads will kill a dog if chewed,google em up we hate em!its every aussies duty to kill on site a cane toad,dont be cruel or fancy just kill em!

Hey Dave, Funny how some dogs react with cane toads. My last dog Shelly ( bull mastiff x boxer) #$%* must have been a drug addict.
As soon as she'd find a cane toad , she'd pick it up in her mouth and roll it around in her mouth then spit it out.
For the next couple of hours she'd lie down against a water tank and froth would pour out her mouth.

She had it down pat. 2 or 3 times a week.

Didn't kill mine. Even seen her do it a couple of times although the first time i found her leaning against the water tank with all that bubbling froth pouring out her mouth i thought she'd been bitten by a snake.

lucky dog,my sister inlaw is a vet,dogs convulse themselves to death horribly when poisoned by toads.

I love dogs. We had to get rid of our mutt when we moved to the big smoke.
She'd have scared to many people , even if they were just walking past the yard. Pure guard dog , because I worked grave yard and it made me feel good knowing that nobody would even consider opening the gate..
Every time I get smashed I go on gumtree looking for hand me down puppies that people want to give away.
, but we rent. It's just not cricket.

Even 13 years later after we had to give her away, I still get a tear in my eye when she was looking at me as the station wagon was leaving. She'd be almost 20 now but big dogs like her just dont live that long.

I let my little 12 pound fluff ball out this morning, looked up and saw an eagle in a tree in my neighbour's yard. fluff ball back in the ride after his morning pee. Cliff

I saw a video of a lady showing an English Mastiff at a Dog show. At the far point of the dog walk for the judge, the big boy laid down. When they tried to get him up he rolled on his back wanting his belly rubbed. It's hilarious because I had one that was show quality but we never showed him, I could have seen him do that.
The next one was bloodhound/mastiff, we got him when I retired, he was harder to train but I still miss him a lot. He had food allergies and we got him special dog food. We recently read the Dog food had too much vitamin D and that damaged their renal system. That's what he died of. I'm convinced most dog food is industrial waste.

cats beat dogs all the time spotty!were having some very heavy rain here at the moment,i sat in the shed with Bear watching it,when it got real heavy my wife took bear inside leaving me to drink beer in the shed by myself,#$%* its a hard life,then Bear was worried about me and was looking out the window on the bottom right,ya might need to zoom in to see his worried little face!

Somewhere there's a photo of out St. Bernard with two cats laying on his front legs and one curled up next to him. He's just laying there holding his head up with a look on his face like he's thinking aw jeez, would somebody move these cats?

well Bears just been hanging out with me today,its been a bit cooler so threw an old shirt over bear,boy dogs get it good!hes been running round chasing the ball etc for hours,im having a beer,it don't get much better.

just to keep this thread moving,we gave bear an old used lap top,now hes worried about "stranger danger",should never have let him go online?that is bear on the screen but somehow the colours go wrong?hes more that on screen grey/blue colour in natural light.

winter here right now in queensland,sure as hell not as cold as anywhere else during winter but still we aint used to it,our place gets little sun all day during winter but for a little spot,trust Bear to find it and keep warm!
