Keihin CR carbs throttle linkage?
« on: May 26, 2006, 12:54:25 PM »
I have installed new Keihin CR carbs on my CB750 but can't I can't see where the "pull" cable mounts - there are 4 mounting holes for the cable ends - does anyone have advice on how to install?

Do you mean where it conects to?

If so it goes into the other side of the mechanism to where the push one is .

It is also easier to fit the cables before mounting the carbs.

It's almost imposible to conect with the carbs mounted.

Those cable mounts were designed by a real sadist. If I remember right, the pull cable mounts to the lowest hole in the rear using '76(and earlier?) style cables.

It is also easier to fit the cables before mounting the carbs.

Oh, I get it now. You guys were having a laugh, playing a joke on the new apprentice(me) by withholding that little nugget of information. It took me a hour to mount that damn cable. Well, ha...ha...haaa :D :D :D :D :D
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

I'm off to the pub soon (I hope) got called into work on my night off.

Jim that works the opposite shift to me, got stranded 250 miles away in Cornwall.

He should have been on a flight back at 2pm, but it was grounded due to fog.

He is on a bus between Birmingham and Manchester.

Don't worry, my mate made the same mistake a few weeks back. :D

He put the carbs on, but before he started screwing the clamps I asked him, "what about the cables :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Thanks guys - I have the later CRs (second photo in previous posting).  With the carbs off it was a quick job to hook up the throttle cables.  What's the rule for adjusting the cables - both cables slightly slack when the throttle is closed?
